Replay, Replay, Replay...

Even if you are fandom, hater or don't have any interest whatsoever in K-pop, I highly recommend reading this blog and listening to this song:
Replay by SHINee.

Probably, this write up is kinda biased but I won't lie- This song has been my world for a long time. It's much more like my source of motivation. The reasons are also special for this high predicament.

1)It was SHINee's debut song-

Yes, on 22nd May,2008 when I was probably doing additions at the age of 5, SHINee debuted with Replay. Replay was an instant chart-topper with catchy contemporary music and the famous "Replay, Replay, Replay...".

2)Replay laid the foundation of Korean Pop-

Today, kpop has reached every, single nook of the world. And, that is a fact one can't deny even if they are hater. With ever developing music genres and enthusiastic fans, sky clearly isn't the limit for artists. In such a scenario, SHINee are often referred as the Princes of Kpop and rightfully so. Replay's ground shaking beats have been inspiring several artists for almost a decade now.

3)The music video and fashion is lit-

The MV is really, really good for Replay. Considering the fact that 2000s was the era of 4:3 TV screens, this song was breakthrough for making this 4:3 well decorated with colours and a smooth yet tough dance choreography. And yes, Replay was one of the earliest fashion trends advocating music video with skinny jeans and high-top sneakers which would dominate the globe in 2010s.

Now, enough of all the technicalities, let's go to the heartfelt aspects of this song that make this song so special and near to my spirit...

4)The SHINee journey-

Personally, I find SHINee's journey one of the most exciting things I ever witnessed. From amateur teen trainees to today's everlasting, melodious content gifting idols; it all started with Replay. I don't know why, but this is the reason why it hits me hard: the way SHINee has grown over the past 12 years. I have witnessed some of the process and now it feels like a cherished part of my childhood. When I listen to Replay, my childhood materialises infront of my eyes and I can't help feeling nostalgic.

5) The music and the lyrics-
Here comes my fav portion...Even if I didn't like Kpop, I'm sure I'd be still drooling over Replay. It has got that contemporary, R&B(Rhythm and Blues) style which I adore. The music is perfect- lifting me up when I'm down and helping me fly when I'm already up. The lyrics are pretty good with a theme - a boy fearing about being presumed too young or childish by the girl he likes.
And let's face it, the voices are so good that I practically choked when the song goes, I need a Replay.
I don't really understand each and every word of the song. I feel it anyway.

6)The live version of Replay-

If you are new to SHINee, I might tell you- SHINee are live legends. I'll seriously urge to watch these live performances. Their live performances are pure fire. With such a bless, Replay live is enough to liven up my day. Just watching it makes me happy and I feel motivated. I love each live of Replay but still this one reaches my bones;

SHINee's first concert after their lifelong member Jonghyun's untimely demise. This one took place at the Tokyo dome which is considered to be one of the largest stage for performing artists. The stadium full of fifty-five thousand fans mourns Jonghyun's loss along with SHINee and remembering the epic and highly colourful journey with SHINee. Afterall, for fans these musical journeys are a love-filled part of their life.

Yes, because we all need a Replay...

P.S.- The song is also known as Noona,You're so Pretty or Noonan neomu yeppeo (Hangul: 누난 너무 예뻐)
And yes, I'm proud to say that I was the one who typed this Korean. XD

A Whole New World

A Whole New World by Brad Kane and Lea Salonga  © Universal Music Publishing Group My only wish? I want my prince to show me all the wonders in the world while we fly a date. An addition: We need to sing this one! This song literally leaves me speechless each time I hear it. It gives me shivers till my hair get raised. An excellent original by Disney, ' A whole new world ' breaks all the rules of breathtaking and rises my expectations for music and love. Not a girly one, nor a macho-sided one; this is the perfect duet with high couple goals. The music video shows traces of an exciting friendship which turns into a great melody with the help of 90s animation. Jasmine (a lonely princess who's never seen the world outside her palace) hesitates to join Aladdin as he tries to display the world in front of her. Her curiosity changes to a buzzing confidence as Jasmine reciprocates Aladdin's feelings by singing with him. And soon, it's pure and clear love...

Everytime (Punch + Chen)

"Oh, Everytime, I see you...." That's all. That's truly all it takes to drive my mind out of my cosy body and push it over the cliff into the amazing world of Descendants of the sun . DOTS was my first Korean drama and I loved every pixel of its aesthetic and wallpaper-ish scenery, every syllable of its mind-blowing dialogues and of course, every decibel of its soundtrack. It doesn't surprise me at all that DOTS owns one of the most famous soundtracks with each masterpiece in it fitting every single stage of love, friendship, heartbreak and above all, fairy tales... I figured what confessions mean through Always , being in love was taught by You are my everything ; and a lot of other songs showed me a diversity in the shades of tender feelings. But, above all Everytime canvasses the stage one of love: falling for someone. That's the beauty of songs, you understand human emotions in a beautiful technique; minus the hassle and plus a melody. Everytime...

© Universal Music Publishing Group I love Coco . It's one of the premium category movies in the shelf of my mind. I would actually be more surprised if I did not adore it. •It has a great and soul-satisfying tale. •It has an awesome animation (which means lots of colours, Yay!) •The characters connect to my being, somewhere within the folds of my heart. And to top this treat, we have great songs. There isn't a single song which is ill-placed or something. I'm grateful to everyone who worked on Coco 's soundtrack and made it my favourite musical. And trust me, I'm not a huge fan of musicals (though they're definitely neat). Coco is a based on Mexican culture and showcases the tradition of Dia de Muertos (The Day of the Dead). I won't give any spoilers (and, that's not the purpose of this write-up anyway), but I highly recommend watching this delicious Disney production. If it's your ideal type, you'll love every second of it! ...
